What Can I Give?

As we end 2010, I thought this story by Catherine Ponder was the most appropriate post to end with. Take this into your soul and process it so that you can practice giving throughout 2011 and beyond. This is a very touching (and true) story.

What Can I Give?

“What could a person give when he seems so in lack?” There is always some” thing a person can give, either tangibly or intangibly, that will put him in touch with God’s rich supply. A widow with a house full of children once telephoned a coun¬selor. She had no money or food for her children. It was lunch time and her chil¬dren had not eaten since the day before. She was desperate. The counselor know well what it was like to find oneself in such a predicament. The power of prosperous thinking had literally supplied “manna from heaven” at a financially desperate period in her own life.

With great compassion she explained the magic power of giving in some way, which would start the substance flowing back in appropriate form.

Of course, when she explained that the widow must give in order to receive, the widow’s first reaction was much the same that yours or mine might be the first time we were told we must give to receive. We always have something to give.

Indeed, we always have more to give than we at first realize. She urged this frantic widow to look about her and to ask for divine guidance concerning what she could give.

The widow was assured that this counselor would be praying with her in the faith that she would be divinely led as to how to give and how to receive thereafter.

The counselor also told her that, after starting the flow of substance by giving, she was then to get ready to receive by preparing her table for that meal she so wished for her children; and by preparing her grocery list with which to shop, in the assurance that the money would manifest very soon for those groceries.

In faith the widow sat down and prayerfully asked what she had that she could give. Suddenly she remembered flowers growing in her yard, which she happily cut and gave to a sick neighbor who was overjoyed to receive them. Next she set her table with the best china, silver and linens in the house. This caused pleasure and excitement among her children, who expectantly awaited a good meal. Just as she was competing her grocery list someone who had been owing her money for a long time, dropped by and paid her $30 on her debt.

If I could shout only one message to the whole world regarding life’s secrets, it would be this: You cannot get something for nothing, but you can have the best of everything when you give fun measure for the good you wish to receive.

Scientific Prayer

Scientific Prayer

Behind every problem or difficulty lies the Truth of Being. This means that in spite of the appearance, you must believe that Divine Mind has already healed the situation¬-that in reality there is nothing but God, or good. Jesus referred to this when He said that when you pray, believe that you have received, and you shall receive. And at another time, he said, “The Father worketh hitherto and I work.”

These statements by Jesus make it very clear that we do not deal with symptoms, but that we must work in our consciousness to lift it above and beyond the mere seeming to the love and goodness of God Himself.

Often, however, we are so close to a problem that, spiritually speaking, we accept the cloudy day as a permanent state of cli¬mate, forgetting that the sunshine of Divine Love and Power has never ceases to shine, although obscured for the moment.

In prayer or treatment, we remind ourselves again that, no matter how bleak or overcast the picture may be, we believe that God has already healed the difficulty, that in Divine Mind there is nothing but good and therefore only good can express itself in these circumstances.

This is the basis of Scientific Prayer.

What words you use, or what portions of the Bible you read, should depend entirely upon what appeals to you at the moment. The important thing is to raise your consciousness above the level where the difficulty seems to be. When you have wiped the problem out of your mind—and put God there instead—you will soon find that it has disappeared from the material world also.

Tell No Man

How many times have you heard Anne say this?

Tell No Man
Joseph Murphy

It is foolish to talk about your dreams, aspirations, plans and secret desires with others. Your prayer is with the Father within. Whatever you claim and feel to be true in the silence of your soul, the Spirit in you will validate and honor and bring to pass. It is foolish to pluck a flower before it blooms and blossoms.

This does not mean that when you go to a doctor, psychologist or attorney you do not tell him your problem, because he is there to help you and cooperate with you. What you convey to a clergyman or doctor is a secret, and he or she keeps that information in confidence.

Keep your own counsel and stop talking about something that has not yet happened. The man who writes a book sits down and writes it, has it published and then tells you about it. Withhold your speech until results speak for themselves.

Treatment For Divine Love

Posted by: Terrie Wurzbacher | Comments (0)

What a great post from Emmet fox on this beautiful Christmas day. Use these affirmative statements to brighten up your day – do it every day for awhile and see how you feel!

Treatment for DIVINE LOVE

My soul is filled with Divine Love.

I am surrounded by Divine Love.

I radiate Love and Peace to the whole world.

I have conscious Divine Love.

God is Love, and there is nothing in ex¬istence but God and His self-expression.

All men are expressions of Divine Love; therefore, I can meet with noth¬ing but the expressions of Divine Love. Nothing ever takes place but the Self-expressing of Divine Love.

All this is true now. This is the actual case, the actual state of affairs. I do not have to try to bring this about, but I observe it already in being now.

Divine Love is the actual nature of Being. There is only Divine Love, and I know this.’

I perfectly understand what Divine Love is. I have conscious realization of Divine Love. The Love of God is in me for all humanity, I am a lamp of God, radiating Divine Love to all whom I meet, to all whom I think of.

I forgive everything that can possibly need forgiveness – positively everything.

Divine Love fills my heart, and all is well.

I now radiate Love to the whole universe, excluding no one.

I experience Divine Love.

I demonstrate Divine Love.

I thank God for this.

Excerpt of the Twelve Powers from “The Radiant I AM”

I have been a listening disciple. I have let people and objects and activities come toward me and impinge upon me till I have been over-piled and mountain-covered with thoughts. But now I know that I AM at my own Center, I have authority over and through my universe, and I shall ordain my twelve disciples, (or my twelve powers) to spread my Original Nature abroad.

This is my ministry. I have heard all I shall ever hear. I know all I shall ever know. I now make my Self know, I AM Authority to my own powers.

I AM power of Life. Because I live, all that hath form or name shall live.

I AM the power of Health. Because I AM holy at my Center, I make whole wherever I decree. I AM Authority.

I AM the power of Strength. I strengthen wherever I decree. I AM Authority.

I AM the power of Support. Everything that hath shape or name is prospered in all its ways from this day on. I AM the sufficiency of my universe. It is my decree.

I AM a power whose Radiance sheds abroad Protection. By Me all that have name or shape are safe and secure running, or walking, or flying forever.

I AM the power of Mind. I decree Intelligence. I decree Mind.

I AM a tower whose radiance is unending Wisdom through all things.

I AM the power of Speech. I AM a tower whose radiance sheds eloquent Speech through all people and things.

I AM the power of Writing. I AM the inspiring pen of the world.
I shall read my inspiration everywhere.

I AM the power of Song-joyous song. I AM the Eternal Smile.

I AM the inspiring joy of my world. I AM that joy.

I AM the power of Skill for all things. From me there gives for¬ever a quick touch of skillfulness through all fingers.

I AM the power of Beauty and Judgment (discernment). As I de¬cree justice, so it is.

I AM the power of Heaven (harmonious state of mind). I have taken up the authority I had. I decree Heaven and Heaven it is.

This is my ministry. This is my nature. I think this – I speak this – I write this – I live this. I AM what I AM. I do what I AM by knowing my Self.

Use these daily.

The Purpose of Denials

Posted by: Terrie Wurzbacher | Comments (0)

Purpose of Denials

There is no separation from the One Self. Our true self is Life. Since Life is the real you, then the real you is already perfect. Life knows no obstruction, so when an apparent obstruction appears, deny that it has any reality. When you deny anything that appears to be wrong, you are merely affirming the presence of the real you.

Your denials and affirmations tend to build up a new and a better recognition of this real you.

A mental denial acts as an eraser rubbing out false impressions, while con-
structive affirmation identifies the self with God and permits Life to flow through us, fresh from the source ofIts infinite wisdom and love.

A mental denial causes us to think straight. It erases false opinions. It removes obstructions of thought. It washes the windows of the soul and lets in the light.

Life is Light, and in that Light there is no darkness. When we use statements similar to this we are giving our subconscious self a spiritual bath. We are erasing the mistaken belief that we are separated from Life.

A Member of the Audience

There are no short cuts to Heaven and the way to the Higher Consciousness is by tak-ing yourself in hand. If you are in earnest, begin to watch yourself. Get off the stage of your life, and get into the audience. Watch yourself and be impartial in your judgments. Do not make excuses for yourself but do not be too harsh either in your opinions.

It does not matter where you stand today. The fact that “I” is watching “Me” means that you have taken one of the greatest steps forward. When you see yourself doing things that are useless, or perhaps even mean or petty, stop them. When you find that “I” can laugh at “Me”, it means that your life is commencing to change for the better.

Finally, you will find that “Me” is beginning to get in step with “I”, and when that happens you are truly on the road to hav¬ing dominion over your life.

There are no short cuts to Heaven but you can have fun changing your life over if you be-come a member of the audience.

Life is For Us

Posted by: Terrie Wurzbacher | Comments (0)

Life is for us

Life is the One Perfect Unity from which everything proceeds, including yourself and all your experiences. All action proceeds from It; all knowledge is in It. It is in us. We are in It.

The key to our whole understanding of Life lies in the realization that Life Itself is pure Spirit.

Life has equipped us with creative ability. If we can only get this firmly in mind, that Life is always for us, It is never against us; the only and original Power is good, then we shall gain freedom.

Life has no adversaries. The denial is like straightening out a mathematical problem. We are not fighting the wrong conclusion, we are merely explaining why it is not true. We are rearranging our thought in a way that proves to us that Life never limits us.

It is not the intellect alone with which we deal. There is a deep feeling center within us. No matter what the intellect affirms, unless this deep feeling center accepts its statements, we shall not get very far. Daily consciously explaining to one’s self what he believes about Life will gradually awaken this inner feeling to an acceptance of what the intellect affirms.
